Carved jewelry box made of celluloid, a synthetic plastic developed in the late 1800s and used as a substitute for ivory, tortoiseshell and other endangered materials. Drawers lined with black crushed velvet. Drawer pulls especially fine. 8″L × 4.5″W × 5.5″H.
